My Dearest Friend,
My name is Daniel Caron, and at 61, I'm writing to you today because I have a story that I really want to tell you. Itโs a story shaped by experiences that have left a lasting mark on my soul, teaching each of us about resilience and our remarkable ability to support one another.
So, why don't you sit back and let me share something very special with you โ my memoir. I'll explain why I'm asking for your support at this critical moment.
I was raised in two foster homes in a small town called Waterloo, east of Montreal, Canada, from 1964 to 1981. I felt a strong sense of uncertainty, and I found myself in a world where love appeared as a distant, unreachable star โ beautiful but out of reach.
Imagine waking up each day without the warmth of a familiar face or the comfort of knowing where you belong. The adults in my life were often out of the picture, which made me wonder about my biological parents. In one home, I was stuck in a situation I didn't want to be in. The rules felt cruel and unfair. They were made by adults who saw me not as a child, but as a burden. I was expected to do whatever they wanted, like a slave. Their demands crushed my spirit.
During evening hours, as the city lights came to life, I would often sit by the window, observing the world around me. I often found myself gazing at our neighbors, a family of four. Their home always seemed to radiate a palpable warmth and love. They were good people, full of an easy joy and freedom that always made me pause and watch. In those moments, I distinctly remember feeling envious. Seeing them so happy and connected while I felt utterly miserable and alone, separated from the warmth of human interaction by a glass barrier, was painful. The longing I felt, being so close yet so painfully distant from vibrant human connection, still resonates deeply. It's a powerful reminder of just how vital and urgent true human interaction is.
Those early years were very hard, but they made me stronger than I thought they would. I wanted to overcome the pain and not let it define me. This desire became a powerful force in my life. As that passion grew, I found myself naturally drawn to stories. Books became more than just pages; they were lifelines and sanctuaries. I started collecting stories. I was interested in the strength that I saw in every story, and the deep wisdom of the people who had been through hard times. The words of heroes, both real and imagined โ like the biblical character Samson or Captain America โ became my quiet companions. Their stories of courage, determination, and dedication to something bigger than themselves were comforting. Each story, each powerful truth, made me feel better and helped me when I was scared or confused.
While reflecting on my own journey, I realized that I needed to do something. I have decided to dedicate myself to helping others who are going through hard times. I will be their guiding light in their darkest moments because I believe with strong conviction that no one should walk through the struggles alone.
Picture this: A custodian diligently cleaning houses, a letter carrier walking the same streets day in and day out, and a customer experience associate engaging with clients in a bustling sales area. While each role had its unique responsibilities and challenges, the essence of what I did shared a common threadโconnection. Every shared smile and brief interaction deepened my passion for community. That strong connection ultimately led me to become a motivational coach dedicated to igniting the same passion and purpose in others.
That connection, that inner drive, grew stronger with each passing year. You know what happened next. It showed itself in interesting ways. In December 2019, I was given an award for my work with Enfant Soleil, an organization that helps children who are in the hospital. It made me feel great to know that even small actions can have a positive impact on someone going through a tough time.
Why Now is a Good Time
For a long time, I've felt a strong desire to help others find their strength, which led me to take a leap of faith in August 2021. I started my own business, Daniel Caron Motivational Coaching Services, and I put all my heart and soul into it. I really believed that I could make a difference.
My goal was clear: to create a safe place for people to deal with hard times, get help, and find the tools they need to face their challenges. However, entering the coaching arena proved to be far more challenging than I had anticipated. Fierce competition and well-established brands overshadowed my efforts, making it difficult to stand out.
I spent a lot of time and effort trying to make money, including the narration of a full-length French book titled "Le Candy Man." I enjoyed working on the project, but I never saw a return on my investment. I had to sell most of my equipment to make up for the losses from my business. This equipment was important for both my work and my personal life. By February 2025, I had no choice but to temporarily close my business in the hopes of relaunching it later. This has been very hard for me, both personally and financially.
I often reflect on what this decision means to me. It's painful to accept that something I cared deeply about didnโt turn out as I envisioned. I canโt help but feel that I let down those who looked to me for support. However, I understand the importance of learning and growing from such experiences, no matter how challenging they may be.
I have a question for you. Remember what it was like to lend a helping hand to someone in need? Perhaps it was a family member going through a difficult period or a friend. Think about those times. At that moment, how did you feel? You were happy. You could see how appreciative they were of your assistance. It's an amazing feeling. It shows you that you have the power to make other people's lives better.
Relaunching our coaching service would help me get my life back on track. More importantly, it would help us keep helping people through their problems and make their lives better. I truly believe that we can do this together.
Thatโs why I am reaching out to you. We cannot do this without your support, belief, and energy. Together, I know we can breathe new life into our mission and reach even more people who are seeking guidance and motivation.
